Promotions at the Carleton Place Wool Grading Warehouse

Following the recent retirement of James McNeely, Carleton Place Wool Superintendent, the following promotions at the Carleton Place Wool Grading Warehouse become effective today October 24, 2018.

Nathan Pappas-Barabe & Patrick Lamothe will work together and assume equal responsibilities as wool graders and warehouse supervisors. Daily wool grading will be completed on a rotating basis by each grader.

The warehouse staff supervisor duties will include overseeing logistics’ such as shipping, receiving, lot sorting, wool coring, health and safety etc. All warehouse wool grading staff will report directly to Nathan and Pat.

Canadian Shearing in Australia

Allison Preston, daughter of Paul & Viola Preston from Vauxhall, Alberta and grand daughter of Grant & the late Edith Preston from Dundalk, Ontario is currently shearing in Australia.

Recently she competed at the Culcairn Shearing & Wool Handling Competition, placing 1st in the Novice Division.

She also competed in the Walbundrie Strong Wool Shearing Competition and placed 2nd in the Novice Division.

30th Nanjing Wool Market Conference and Wool Trade Fair

Eric Bjergso, CCWG General Manager attended the 30th Nanjing Wool Market Conference and Wool Trade Fair on September 11th – 13th in Nanjing Jiangsu Province, China.

Over 500 delegates were registered from the Chinese and international wool trade.

Participants include growers, traders, primary processors, spinners, weavers and garment manufacturers. It provided an excellent opportunity for all international delegates to meet with China’s biggest wool buyers and processors, all in one place. Contracts were negotiated for 700,000 pounds of graded and objectively measured Canadian wool.
